On the occasion of the third edition of 1.618 Sustainable Luxury, HEC Paris (École des Hautes Études Commerciales de Paris, one of the foremost business schools in France and in Europe) and 1.618 associated their expertise around the prize: “HEC 1618 & Sustainable Luxury Award 2012”.
HEC 1618 & Sustainable Luxury Award 2012 goes to the Brazilian brand Osklen. The coup de Coeur du Jury was awarded to the Fondation Jacques Rougerie.
Situated between urban and nature, technology and ecology, Osklen, a brand created by Oskar Metsavaht, was a huge hit right from its start in 1988. It has now become a reference in Brazil. According to the WGSN, it is one of the 10 most powerful and inspiring brands in the world and WWF-UK named Oskar Metsavaht a pioneering and avant-garde “Future maker”.
HEC 1618 & Sustainable Luxury Award is proposed to the exhibitors of the Parisian annual rendez-vous of Sustainable Luxury to honor the most innovative initiative in the field of sustainable development. The jury’s criteria include both a sustainable development approach of the product (or service) and its production, communication, distribution, corporate management, combined to a true luxury orientation.
