N°5 GRAND EXTRAIT BACCARAT, the most precious interpretation of N°5, housed in a celebratory 2021 ml bottle made of Baccarat crystal. Since this year marks the 100th anniversary of the world’s most famous fragrance, and since 2+0+2+1 equals 5, this limited edition of 55 pieces imbues the number 2021 with special meaning.

The iconic fragrance is presented in its most precious form: the Parfum. Made entirely of Baccarat crystal, the bottle is cut like a diamond using a unique form of craftsmanship. True to its original design, it is adorned with a white label and crowned with a faceted cabochon.
Each exceptional, custom piece is a veritable work of art. Fifty-five numbered, hand-engraved bottles are available, each showcased in a white-dipped lambskin coffret.

N°5 limited editions: A piece to treasure for years to come.
Chanel also announced four limited editions created for the holidays and to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the House’s iconic fragrance. Two collector’s bottles are featuring labels embossed with Gabrielle Chanel’s lucky number. The biodegradable paper pulp case is moulded to hug the shape of the bottle and sealed with an embossed double-C stamp to evoke the fine art of baudruchage, unique to CHANEL fragrances.
In 2021, in partnership with Maison Pochet, a French Living Heritage Company (Entreprise du Patrimoine Vivant), CHANEL has created a remarkable innovation: the first perfume bottle containing recycled glass that maintains complete shine and transparency. A new quality of glass, obtained via a specific step in the recycling process.

Composition
The eau de parfum draws inspiration from the parfum, which shares its floral-aldehyde signature. The floral bouquet, composed around May rose and jasmine, features bright citrus top notes. Aldehydes give it a unique presence and a smooth touch of vanilla creates a voluptuous trail.
Inspiration
In 1921, Gabrielle Chanel called upon Ernest Beaux to create an intense and original “woman’s perfume, a scent of woman.” The nose presented her with a visionary composition that made unprecedented use of aldehydes. Mademoiselle chose the fifth sample of the fragrance and decided to simply name it number five. For this new fragrance, she selected a bottle with a revolutionary design, adorned with a white label and topped with a faceted cabochon. Jacques Polge, who became the CHANEL nose in 1978, reinterpreted his predecessor’s composition in 1986, to create a more voluptuous version of N°5: the eau de parfum.

CHANEL unveiled also a luxury advent calendar numbered from 5 to 31.
Every day offers a CHANEL product to discover: fragrance, makeup, miniatures and gifts inspired by the world of N°5. The content of this calendar has caused a great deal of controversy in the online environment.
“The CHANEL advent calendar is unlike any other. It is inspired by the signature silhouette of the N°5 perfume bottle. This collector’s item is comprised of 27 boxes numbered from 5 to 31, each of which contains a full-sized fragrance or makeup product, a miniature or another surprise marked with Gabrielle Chanel’s lucky number,” said Chanel at the launch.
Chanel announced that the quantities are ultra-limited.

CHANEL at Hyères International Festival of Fashion, Photography and Fashion Accessories 2021
As a grand partner of the International Festival of Fashion, Photography and Fashion Accessories in Hyères since 2014, CHANEL is renewing its support for this major event in the new global creative scene. On the occasion of the 36th edition of the festival, the ‘le19M CHANEL Métiers d’art Prize’ was awarded to the best collaboration between the ten fashion designers in competition and ten Maisons belonging to CHANEL’s Métiers d’art.
The Fashion jury awarded this prize to Rukpong Raimaturapong for the result of his collaboration with the hatter and milliner Maison Michel. The winner receives a grant of 20,000 euros dedicated to the making of a new creative project, which will be unveiled next year at the 37th edition of the festival.
This year, 2020 winners Emma Bruschi, Tom Van der Borght, Ddiddue and Juana Etcheberry, presented the fruits of their collaboration with the CHANEL Métiers d’art in an exhibition held at the Villa Noailles.
