Ralph Lauren takes 2023 Spring-Summer Fashion Show To Southern California, At The Huntington Library, Art Museum and Botanical Gardens.
From Manhattan glamour to Montauk ease and Colorado cool, Ralph Lauren evokes the most glorious facets of Americana. For Spring-Summer 2023, he’s taking a trip to a whole new destination. The fashion designer is holding his spring 2023 show at the Huntington Museum and Gardens just outside Los Angeles.
Ralph Lauren announced that his fashion show will be held on October 13th, 2022 in Southern California. As per the statement, “This will be Ralph Lauren’s first ever show on the West Coast. The designer will present both menswear and womenswear in a special fashion experience that will be uniquely Ralph Lauren.”
Lauren is indeed the master of special fashion experiences. Who can forget the glamorous 50th anniversary show and dinner at Central Park’s Bethesda Fountain, the coolly immersive Ralph’s Club with a 1920s/30s vibe and a crooning Janelle Monáe, or, most recently, the elegant soiree at the Museum of Moden Art with a chic set inspired by Lauren’s Fifth Avenue home?
“While there were no further details about the upcoming show – part of CFDA’s American Collections Calendar – at this time, but we can’t help but buzz about the naturally fabulous direction Lauren is planning to take for the occasion. Until then, we will be California Dreamin’” – commented CFDA.
“Southern California in recent years has been the site for several designer fashion shows that normally would have taken place in New York or Europe. The temperate climate is perfect for outdoor runway shows. The number of Hollywood celebrities who live in the area make for a star-filled audience,” commented WWD.
Louis Vuitton, Dior, and Gucci are some of the luxury brands choosing seaside locations to show the brands resort collections.
Ralph Lauren created the three different bridal gowns for Jennifer Lopez.
“In celebration of Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck’s wedding, Ralph Lauren created the bride’s three custom gowns with love, care, and consideration woven into every detail of the silhouettes,” said Ralph Lauren in a statement.
Drawing inspiration from archival Ralph Lauren pieces, Jennifer Lopez’s custom handkerchief wedding gown reimagines a turtleneck column dress with the addition of a dramatic ruffle hem.
More than 1,000 hand-cut handkerchiefs and 1,640 feet of fabric were cut into ruffles and attached by hand, creating a voluminous, romantic skirt. Each handkerchief becomes a nostalgic keepsake and a modern heirloom, while the intricate constructed ruffled sleeves become a statement in craftsmanship and dignified design.
