Dutch shipyard Holterman is adding a new 60-footer (20m) to its Xtreme range of flexible, multipurpose motoryachts. Building work is already well under way on the first Xtreme60, which will sit comfortably between the existing Xtreme-54 and Xtreme-78 models, with their muscular lines, trawler windows and sleek profile.
Holterman Shipyard, a Dutch company with over four decades of experience in yacht building, is preparing to launch its latest model in early 2024: the Xtreme60. The new addition to the Xtreme range is a flexible and multipurpose motoryacht, measuring 20 meters in length, and boasts a design that is a continuation of the muscular lines, trawler windows, and sleek profile of the existing Xtreme-54 and Xtreme-78 models.
Bernd Weel designed the Xtreme60 with complex shapes and numerous hull openings, bringing in natural light throughout the yacht’s interiors. The hull construction is complete, and the focus is now on the superstructure. Once the two sections are joined, the boat will move to Holterman’s state-of-the-art shipyard in Meppel for fit-out.
The Xtreme60 offers plenty of exterior space, with a long aft deck designed for lounging in both shade and sun, and enough room for entertaining. Wide side decks tucked behind deep, safe bulwarks run forward to a stylish foredeck lounge, featuring a drinks table, two banks of seating in matt white Sunbrella fabric, and a large forward-facing sunpad. The yacht also boasts a flexible beach club, which includes a deep, padded seat when the transom is closed, and a hydraulically operated panel that opens to reveal a deep lazarette for storing water toys, diving gear, bikes, or other equipment.
The yacht’s interiors are entirely given over to luxurious accommodation designed by Kitty van der Kamp, with a high-end galley, cosy indoor dining, and comfortable sofas. The lower deck is configured as a huge full-beam master cabin with a desk and a vanity table, while a TV lounge lies further forward, lit with large hull windows and a skylight overhead. A well-appointed guest double is in the bow, with access to a second bathroom that doubles as a day head. The yacht uses natural shades and materials to create a sophisticated, contemporary feel.
The Xtreme60 will be powered by two efficient Volvo Penta D6-300hp engines, capable of achieving an 8-knot cruising speed or 11 knots full throttle, combined with 5,000 litres of fuel tankage, providing an adventurous range of around 1,100 nautical miles. The yacht also features an advanced DMS stabilisation system that ensures comfort at sea and anchor.
