Karl Lagerfeld showed his latest Chanel cruise collection in the gardens of the Château de Versailles. What could be more appropriate in Marie Antoinette’ palace setting than some transposition of old ball dresses and courtesans’ makeup. A royal collection of sandy white creations in tweeds, denim, pearls and mattelas accessories, plus the Chanel’s logo placed under the eye as a beauty mark.
The models paraded around the fountains and in the elaborate gardens of Versailles, impressing the audience like Chanel did with all over-the-top stagings. The next stop for Karl Lagerfeld is the 65th Festival de Cannes.
