The Marine Life Park, World’s largest oceanarium to open in Singapore
Say hallo to manta rays and hammerhead sharks!
On 7 December 2012, Singapore will open world’s largest oceanarium. The Marine Life Park within Resorts World Sentosa will be home to over 100,000 marine animals from 800 different species – in over 60 million litres of water.
Raising the curtains for the Grand Opening festivities will be a ceremonial launch at the resort’s Lake of Dreams, public performances, and a 12-minute public fireworks display at its waterfront promenade. The world’s best-selling soprano, Sarah Brightman, will perform accompanied for the first time by the Singapore Chinese Orchestra, in a gala dinner for 1,600 invited guests.
World’s largest oceanarium will feature two ticketed attractions: Adventure Cove Waterpark, a tropical paradise of waterslides and a wave pool, and the S.E.A. Aquarium with world’s largest viewing panel and a Shipwreck Habitat.
“When the new Marine Life Park opens, we believe we will help put Singapore in the pole position as the number one family destination in this region for many years to come. This is the only integrated resort in the world that a visitor can spend over three full days in engaging and fun-filled activities. We have six hotels, a major convention centre, a great Maritime Museum, a world-renowned spa, and two mega attractions – Universal Studios Singapore and the Marine Life Park,” commented Tan Hee Teck, CEO of Resorts World Sentosa.
“No other attraction in this part of the world comes close to the Marine Life Park in terms of scope and concept,” said Dennis Gilbert, senior VP of attractions at RWS.
Resorts World Sentosa has also Singapore’s largest luxury spa (a 10,000 square metre) – ESPA at Resorts World
Sentosa (ESPA at RWS), the brand’s flagship spa in Asia. ESPA is the partner of luxury hotel groups such as Ritz-Carlton, Peninsula, One&Only and Leela Palaces.
