Dior opens first boutique in Australia
Following in the footsteps of Louis Vuitton, Prada, Chanel, Gucci, Salvatore Ferragamo, Canali, Miu Miu, and Bottega Veneta, French luxury fashion house Christian Dior opened its first boutique in Australia.
Designed in the style of a grand Parisian apartment, Dior’s first Australasian flagship boutique set up in Sydney replicates renowned boutique on Paris’s Avenue
Montaigne and features womenswear, menswear, timepieces, accessories and fine jewellery.
Dior’s flagship on the corner of King and Castlereagh streets spans four storeys. Actually the location is the former Louis Vuitton store.
According to The New Zeeland Herald, Australia has become a target for luxury brands lured by a high Australian dollar, a healthy economy compared with Europe, and proximity to the emerging Asian market.
“High-end customers are continuing to spend, and big cities in Europe are still visited by a lot of tourists. Luxury has been protected by that,” Christian Dior president and chief executive Sidney Toledano told The New Zeeland Herald.
“The US has been a very good market, and Asia has been excellent.”
