Bulgari, the “Embassy of the Italian Art of Life – the Dolce Vita”, celebrated 100 years of jewelry watchmaking at Baselworld 2018. The Italian luxury house also sets a new world record.
Bvlgari is celebrating one century of feminine jewellery watchmaking with Diva Finissima and perpetuation of the Tubogas saga with Lvcea. Bvlgari also claims an elegant new world record with Octo Finissimo Tourbillon Automatic, the world’s slimmest self-winding watch at just 3.95mm.
Bulgari celebrates 100 years of jewelry watchmaking in 2018. To mark the occasion, the Roman jeweler has fused its Luceo watch line and the iconic Tubogas bracelet with five new models unveiled at Baselworld. For men, Bulgari presents the Octo Finissimo Tourbillon Automatic and claims a fourth world record with a thickness of just avec 3.95 mm.
“A good watch for Bulgari has to be timeless, but it has also to be epical. An in that respect, the Octo Finissimo has surely those two qualities,” said Jean-Christophe Babin, CEO BVLGARI.
“Lucea would be the dream gift I would really do to a beloved woman. And Octo, selfishly, is the watch I want for me, especially the new Tourbillon Finnissimo which is setting a new world record in elegance,” added Jean- Christophe Babin.
Bulgari is bringing a touch of modernity to the Lucea line
For the first time, the Bulgari Lucea watch is paired with the Tubogas bracelet for exquisite everyday comfort on the wrist. Bringing a touch of modernity to the line, the Tubogas is formed by long bands of gold or steel that interlock to completely conceal the inner structure of the bracelet. The stainless steel version, available in 28 mm and 33 mm sizes, has a dramatic black lacquer dial. The collection also features a 33 mm rose gold interpretation resplendent with diamonds around the bezel and decorating the bracelet.
At 3.95 mm, the Octo Finissimo Tourbillon Automatique sets a new world record for thinness.
To achieve this degree of slenderness Bulgari worked from the Finissimo Tourbillon movement launched in 2014, incorporating a flying tourbillion equipped with a ball bearing system. An opening on the back of the watch depicts the stylized motif adorning the entrance of the Bulgari boutique on Via Condotti in Rome, revealing the tourbillon and the oscillating weight in action.
With the Octo Finissimo Pink Gold, Bulgari proposes its iconic model for men in a rose gold. This model is designed for both men and women.
