A perfect tribute to La Grande Dame, Madame Clicquot.

 

High-end champagne producer Veuve Clicquot has teamed with British luxury shoe and accessories brand Charlotte Olympia on an exclusive 2017 gift box focused on Charlotte Olympia’s signature leopard print. The partnership between CHARLOTTE OLYMPIA designer Charlotte Dellal and Veuve Clicquot dates back from 2013. The annual Veuve Clicquot Gold Cup was celebrated back then with vintage- inspired shoes, clutch bags with cork detailing, bright orange and sparkling gold elements. Charlotte Olympia latsest collaborations include a tribute to the late visionary Zaha Hadid and “Wish You Were Here” – a capsule with London based luggage brand Globe-Trotter.

The 2017 limited edition box includes the best-selling Vanina clutch line with gold clasp lettering and a special edition bottle of Veuve’s La Grande Dame 2006 cuvée inside. Crisp and fresh, La Grande Dame Blanc 2006 partners well with native oysters or plump scallops with samphire. According to clos19 food pairing suggestions, salmon gravadlax with an avocado mousse or roasted lobster claw in a light sauce will both work well. For the dessert, try a delicate dessert incorporating crystallised lemon or orange peel.

“The grape harvest in 2006 defied expectations. Winemakers overcame unfavourable weather conditions to create a vintage with minerality and full-bodied expression in true Veuve Clicquot style,” explained the luxury champagne maker.

“La Grande Dame 2006 is an exclusive blend of Pinot Noir and Chardonnay from eight classic Grands Crus. In line with the style of the house, which is Pinot Noir dominant, the blend is 53% Pinot Noir and 47% Chardonnay. The wine has intense color with golden glints and very fine sparkling bubbles. Each cuvée of La Grande Dame has exceptional aging potential. The current vintage 2006 can be enjoyed now until 2025,” says wine.
