The 2018 summer look developed by Peter Philips is an exploration of color and materials. Splashes of color, fresh textures and intense transparency for both a romantic and pop-art collection.
New ‘Cool Wave’ Summer Look 2018 is an effervescent makeup beauty collection that explores the contrast between aquatic blues and euphoric shades.
“It’s like the splash from an incandescent body plunged into the water,” explains Peter Philips, the Creative and Image Director of Dior Makeup. To illustrate this summery freshness, the model Frederikke Sofie improvised a midnight swim. With a bright mouth and captivating eyes, she captures the sensuality of this tangy-colored summer look.
Evoking memories of summer, this season the Dior Addict Lip Tattoo offers a host of zesty and flavored shades. With addictive coral Watermelon, pinky-brown Cranberry, captivating pink Litchi or bright Orange, colorful lips are a given.
The eyes echo the lips thanks to the 5 Couleurs palette, revealing a motif inspired by ripples on the surface of water. The first, Cool Down, comes in turquoise, midnight blue, pastel and denim shades, while the second, Heat Up, reveals coppery, brown and Nude shades. The final touch to the beauty look, the new Diorshow Cooling Stick pencil provides a feeling of freshness and an iridescent finish. Applied all over the eyelids or the base of the lashes, it illuminates the eyes, and comes in a seductive bronze, a precious gold and a romantic pink.
The Diorskin Mineral Nude Bronze and Diorskin Mineral Nude Glow powders, infused with golden minerals, capture the light and multiply the bronzing aspect of its pearlized effects.
Peter Philips also developed a “collection of nail varnishes in dazzling colors which you can use to express your personality and creativity”. With these four colors given suitably pop names – Pow, Wizz, Splash and Blop – nails get their turn in the sun, too, as part of this summery beauty look.
Last week, Dior also unveiled its accessories collection for Spring Summer. This season’s essentials include ‘Diorama’ wallet-with-chain which comes in several colors, the ‘Lady Dior’ Voyageur wallet inspired by Niki de Saint Phalle’s artworks and Dior’s former long-term designer Marc Bohan’s favored black and white check.
