A watch is only as good as the company it keeps.
From the 14 to the 16 of June, just for three days, Cartier showcased its male universe during Pitti Uomo 2016. A 15th century Palazzo Gondi, in the heart of the city, is where the Drive de Cartier, the newest men’s watch collection, was on display. Making a bold statement with its unique cushion-shaped case, the watch launched by Cyrille Vigneron, Cartier’s new CEO, was brought to life by the in-house Cartier Manufacture Movement 1904 MC.
To mark the event, the Drive man opened the doors to this family home, a place symbolic of the savoir-faire passed down from generation to generation and conducive to spontaneous discussion and lively conversations – the very expression of a passion for life combining la dolce vita, extraordinary encounters and a true sense of celebration.
The Palazzo, the Drive man’s apartments and the eclectic artists surrounding him are the reflection of this free spirit liberated from all conventions.
“We are both honored and very pleased by the fact that Cartier, a name that is symbolic of French excellence, has chosen Florence and Pitti Uomo to present the new ‘Drive de Cartier’ watch”, says Rafaello Napoleone, CEO of Pitti Immagine. “This is important proof of how influential Pitti Immagine Uomo is on the international scene, when it comes to launching special lifestyle projects both within and beyond the realm of fashion. With its extraordinary audience, and its uniquely stimulating atmosphere, it is the ideal platform for launches and previews presented by greatest names in the world”.
