An exclusive collection of ready-to-wear apparel and accessories signed Air Dior extends Jordan Brand’s collaborative relationship with the luxury Parisian house.
Dior and Jordan Brand are bringing new life to classic sport styles.
The Air Jordan 1 High OG Dior, Air Jordan 1 Low Dior, ready-to-wear apparel and accessories will be available April 2020.
With this partnership, the different cultures of America and France and of haute couture and high-performance sportswear are drawn together, unified and then blended to create a new hybrid look. Last week, WWD fashion journal reported the news of a NBA x Louis Vuitton partnership. According to Women’s Wear Daily, the National Basketball Association (NBA) and Louis Vuitton will announce the launch of this new project at the French luxury goods brand’s Avenue Montaigne store in Paris on 22nd January, (WWD).
Relaxed, minimalistic wool suits are punctuated with buttons signed with the Air Dior logo. The blazers sport subtle blue and white striped linings. The MA1 bomber jacket, a classic Jordan garment, reprises the emblem on its back and displays the Jumpman logo – recognized the world over – on its sleeve. It is paired with silk shorts decorated with a graphic motif featuring the “CD” initials.
A gray suede hoodie also sports these new logos in perforated or embossed versions created using precise, meticulous techniques. The Dior Oblique motif for the first time adorns the linings of the designs, which are all made by hand in Italy.
Cashmere or sleeveless sweaters, shirts and polo shirts as well as pants affirm a new look, inspired by the NBA champion’s style.
Four leather goods pieces – including a pouch and a wallet – as well as bob hats, necklaces and jacquard ties complement this collection, while square silk scarves subtly combine the toile de Jouy and Wings prints. Adding the final touch to the compelling range, a low version of the Air Jordan 1 High OG Dior is also introduced
The first silhouette for the Jordan Brand x Dior collection was unveiled during the Fall 2020 Dior men’s collection.
“I love mixing together different worlds, different ideas — and Jordan Brand and Maison Dior are both emblematic of absolute excellence in their fields,” said Dior men Artistic Director Kim Jones. “To bring them together in this special collaboration is to propose something exciting and truly new.”
Coinciding with the 35th anniversary of the Air Jordan and celebrating the first Dior men’s collection debut in the United States, the collaborative, limited-edition Air Jordan 1 High OG underscores both the timeless appeal of the shoe and the emblematic style of Maison Dior.
