Avigation Watch Type A-7: Longines’ modern day interpretation of the 1930s aviators models
Longines’ 180th anniversary is celebrated this year with important horological launches. The family of anniversary timepices, wich includes 1942 Heritage Chronograph and Monopusher Chronograph 180th Anniversary LE, is enriched with a watch inspired by 1930s models manufactured for U.S. Army aviators.
Longines Avigation Watch Type A-7 is a modern day interpretation of the “Type A-7″ watch model used by U.S. Army. The timepice is the combination of “aviation” and “navigation” and represents the perfect instrument for modern-day explorers. Even if wearing gloves, Avigation Type A-7 can be easily read/deciphered and manipulated thanks to intentionally large diameter (49mm), white numerals, fluted crown, and a unique angled position (50° to the right) feature. It is allowing a pilot to read the watch without moving the arm.
