Tailored for the most active lifestyle, this new watchmaking creation from Greubel Forsey is showcasing a large, high precision and inclined balance wheel within a 100 metres water-resistant titanium case.
With this new creation, the “Balancier S”, Greubel Forsey, a luxury watchmaking company specializing in complicated, high-end timepieces, pursues the sporting adventure, pushing the technical limits to combine ergonomics, architecture and precision.
The unique ovoid case with ergonomic profile and integrated lugs provides optimal protection for the movement. Circular from above, Balancier S’ case reveals the unique arched shape from other angles, and its slim profile reinforces its dynamic new momentum.
The oval, arched sapphire crystal follows the curvature of the case.
The perfect synergy between the case and the movement is emphasized, technically and visually, by a double suspended arched bridge holding an inclined gear train and curved central hour and minute hands. These striking elements integrate and extend over the inclined balance wheel giving the timepiece its powerful identity, but also assuring its outstanding chronometric performance, explained Greubel Forsey, the fine watchmaking manufacture launched in 2004 by Robert Greubel and Stephen Forsey. The luxury brand is based in La Chaux-de- Fonds, Switzerland. Greubel Forsey makes timepieces with multiple tourbillons and inclined balance wheels with the aim of improving timekeeping precision. Their approach was validated in 2011 when a Greubel Forsey Double Tourbillon Technique won the 2011 International Chronometry Competition held by the Le Locle Museum of Horology.
The exceptional chronometry of this watch is combined with a sporty case.
The large inclined balance wheel at 7 o’clock stands out. Entirely developed and made within the Greubel Forsey Atelier, this balance wheel is distinguished by its oversized 12.6 mm diameter, ensuring excellent timekeeping performance. Its 30° angle provides this timepiece with excellent chronometric performance and is prominently visible in action thanks to the unique movement architecture.
Made of titanium and water-resistant to 100 metres, its powerful case shape is distinguished by its lightness and comfort on the wrist. Its robustness protects the movement’s reliability and chronometric performance at all times.
