WHODUNIT? FOUR SEASONS HOTEL TOKYO AT MARUNOUCHI UNVEILS THE WHIMSICAL LOUBI MYSTERY AFTERNOON TEA IN COLLABORATION WITH CHRISTIAN LOUBOUTIN.
Set in a Turkish Ottoman palace, Christian Louboutin’s LOUBI MYSTERY concept is inspired by classic detective board games. Meet Inspector Loubi and a cast of colourful “whodunit” characters – Madame La Sultane, Colonel Klounakis and Lady Tulipa to name a few – through the highly immersive Afternoon Tea journey.
From October 5 to November 30, 2022, discover a world of whimsy, colour and play with the LOUBI MYSTERY Afternoon Tea at Four Seasons Hotel Tokyo at Marunouchi, presented in collaboration with Christian Louboutin.
Hosted at MAISON MARUNOUCHI, the limited-edition Afternoon Tea is woven around the LOUBI MYSTERY footwear capsule, co-designed by fashion maestro Christian Louboutin and Yaz Burkey, a Parisian designer born in Istanbul and celebrated for her daring, unconventional aesthetic.
“We are delighted to partner with Christian Louboutin, one of the foremost names in the world of luxury design, to bring our guests this utterly unique dining experience. Here at Four Seasons, luxury is our love language, making this an incredibly rewarding collaboration,” says General Manager Charles Fisher.
Pastry Chef Elwyn Boyles and his team bring the story to life in edible format, unveiling an all-original menu of six sweet creations. “This vibrant collection is filled with surprising touches and little secrets – just like a good mystery,” notes Chef Elwyn with a smile.
The Dagger on the Table, a delectable composition of meringue, Meyer lemon cream and tart shell, is canopied by a miniature dagger, while the ELIXIR Cup evokes a whodunit icon in plush flavours like almond, fig, cinnamon and chocolate.
The star of the afternoon is surely the LOUBI MYSTERY Shoe Choux. Brimming with enigmatic tastes, this “choux bomb” is adorned with a playful high heel crafted in chocolate. In a nod to timeless murder mysteries, the Backgammon Shortbread features a “backgammon board” above layers of cassis ganache shortbread, cassis whip and chocolate mousse.
The Charming Tulip is an eye-catching confection of purple and green, made with cassis mousse, green tea jelly and chocolate, while the Mystery Macarons embody the rich interiors of the LOUBI MYSTERY universe, inviting diners to guess what sumptuous flavours hide within.
A limited number of lucky guests will also receive a special fragrance by Christian Louboutin as a souvenir (available only until stocks last).
Christian Louboutin’s LOUBI MYSTERY capsule features head-turning high heels, such as such as the Lipstick with its sleek contours and gold finish, and the Yazflirt Alta with its intricate hand-embellishments, including a magnificent tulip.
The LOUBI MYSTERY Afternoon Tea at MAISON MARUNOUCHI is priced at JPY 7,600 on weekdays and JPY 8,850 on weekends, inclusive of all taxes and service charge.
