The newly launched 17-metre Contest 55CS by Contest Yachts of Holland has been nominated in the Luxury Cruiser section of the European Yacht Of The Year 2021. Of the dozens of new sailboats launched yearly, only the exceptional receive such recognition for this most prestigious of yachting awards.
The sailing trials took place over the last weekend in August, in Kiel, Germany, and the winners are to be announced next January in boot Düsseldorf 2021. This is in the same halls where just 12 months before, this sweetly lined, luxurious, Lloyd’s certified bluewater beauty, drawn by judel/vrolijk, made her acclaimed debut.
These ‘Oscars of Yachting’, judged by Europe’s top yachting magazine writers from more a dozen nations, have also previously been enjoyed by Contest Yachts. The ingenious Contest 42CS won the same Luxury Cruiser category in her year of launch, too.
New Contest 59CS – Contest Yachts of Holland announce launch of first of a new sub-60ft performance bluewater adventure cruiser.
The collaboration between Contest Yachts and respected design house judel/vrolijk & co has launched already very successful models, and most recently in January the strikingly beautiful Contest 55CS. Now there is another: the new Contest 59CS – 18 metres of very attractive modern bluewater adventuring.
At Contest Yachts the chosen way is evolution not revolution, an expression often heard but rarely practised so effectively as in Contest yacht design and construction. The living proof is in this acclaimed semi-custom constructor’s latest launch, the Contest 59CS. Stealthily advancing design styling and detailing, the Contest 59CS once again shows the flair of Contest design partners judel/vrolijk & co and Wetzels Brown Partners, continuing a new modernity grown out of the previous recent models.
