The exclusive annual Alta Gioielleria event presented by Dolce & Gabbana in Florence at Officina Profumo – Farmaceutica di Santa Maria Novella is the perfect representation of Fatto a Mano/ Handmade in Italy.

Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana pay homage to Florence, the city of the Renaissance and Tuscany in their Alta Gioielleria, Alta Sartoria and Alta Moda creations. The three new collection represent a new rebirth in the enchanting city bathed in architectural wonder, where the roots of local artisans permeate and inspire every garment.

The perfect setting to showcase precious bejewelled masterpieces.

The majestic and historical Officina Profumo-Farmaceutica di Santa Maria Novella in Firenze, considered Europe’s first workshop, offered an enriching setting for 2020 Dolce & Gabbana Alta Gioielleria creations. The pharmacy’s first perfume, which dates back to 1533 and was specifically created for Catherine de’ Medici, continues to be produced today and is famous all over the world.

Founded in the early 1600s, this historical and cultural Florentine institution boasts magnificent rooms full of frescoes and statues, where exclusive ingredients are transformed into olfactory works of art. This creativity and passion inspire Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana’s everyday work. These values can be found in every Tuscan workshop, where local artisans create handmade works of art following traditions passed down from generation to generation.

Presented at Officina Profumo – Farmaceutica di Santa Maria Novella in Florence, the Alta Gioielleria creations include a self-winding mechanical wristwatch with flying Tourbillon, a white and yellow gold brooch with black and colourless diamonds, cufflinks with diamonds and a yellow and white gold ring with grey-blue diamonds.

This year’s Alta Gioielleria collection includes a necklace in yellow and white gold with intense yellow and colourless diamonds and a white gold ring and earrings with colourless and brown diamonds.

The yellow and white gold manual pocket watch with a minute repeater features a ruby dial and crown, paired with cufflinks with rubies and diamonds, tuxedo studs with rubies and a precious brooch with rhodolites, emeralds and fourteen diamonds. The collection also debuts a necklace and a pair of earrings in white and pink gold with “Paraiba” and “Rubellite” tourmalines and diamonds.

The Alta Gioielleria show was graced with a yellow gold column wheel single-button manual wrist chronograph with the flying Tourbillon, a hand-engraved dial and a ruby-enriched crown. The watch was presented alongside a detachable brooch-pendant in yellow gold with blue-grey tourmaline, rhodolite garnets and peridots, cross cufflinks in yellow gold and a ring with a Sri-Lankan unheated blue sapphire, rubies and diamonds.
