Every year, the international jury awards the “Oscar of the boatbuilding industry” in a total of five categories. Representatives of eight leading European motorboat magazines from countries such as Norway (Båtmagasinet), Italy (BoatMag.it) and Spain (Nautica y Yates) vote for the winners. Due to the pandemic and the resulting cancellation of the boot Düsseldorf show, the award ceremony was held virtually for the first time at the International Maritime Museum in Hamburg.
European Powerboat of the Year 2021 – Displacement Yacht category. The winner: Turbocraft Silverfin – The Pocket-size Luxury Explorer Yacht
In the “Displacement Yacht” class, you will find the typical traveling boats. The need for speed has reduced, comfort of living along with an efficient drive system and safety measures are in the limelight of the judges.
Halfway between a traditional lobster boat and a small explorer yacht, it offers the benefit of both types.
Silverfin has outstanding hydrodynamic, range and fuel-efficiency performances. What makes it possible is the semi-planning hull based on the Long Thin Hull concept. It offers the benefit of a smoother ride than any conventional planning hulls and a higher cruising speed than any displacement or semi-displacement boats. With a top speed above 20 knots, it boasts more than 400 nautical miles of range at a perfect cruising speed of about 12-15 knots. It is a “true passage-maker” that has an unrivalled fuel-efficiency and more than 400 nautical miles of autonomy. It has a genuine ecological footprint that has no match in the market.

European Powerboat of the Year 2021 – Up to 20 m. The winner: Absolute Navetta 64 yacht
In the biggest boat class, considerations like “life on the water”, or the opportunity to spend multiple weeks traveling on board with several people, are taking into account. Once again the arrangements of space and the distribution of rooms on the different decks, together with the performance of the boat, are playing a huge role in this category.
The Navetta 64, like her siblings has 100% Navetta DNA and it easy to see why. The wide and uninterrupted side-glass window, which runs from the aft mirror to the windshield, outlines her exterior shapes. These are characterized by the significant enlargement of the bow windows and the opening of the side gunwales in the cockpit. In the Absolute Navetta 64 yacht Beach Club version, the transom can be turned from a large storage space into an actual double cabin at the water’s surface sealed tight with a fully-glazed, certified watertight access door. Beach Club by day and VIP cabin with an en-suite head by night: this alchemy is made possible thanks to the placing of the crew cabin—with 2 berths—directly accessible from the second starboard-side door.
