Sofitel Luxury Hotels announces a special collaboration with designer Jean-Charles de Castelbajac for the Sofitel Casablanca Tour Blanche.
A new Sofitel address in the Moroccan city, the Sofitel Casablanca Tour Blanche has given Jean-Charles de Castelbajac carte blanche to produce a work of art inside the hotel.
The French designer (born 28 November 1949 in Casablanca) has thus designed a genuine permanent art installation entitled, “Fatal Oriental Syncronocity”, exhibited in pride of place in the “Le Casart” bar. Jean-Charles de Castelbajac, a native of the city, wished to pay homage to Casablanca by honouring one of the lines from the legendary eponymous film by Michael Curtiz (Casabanca – 1942).
In addition to this installation, “Le Casart” is showcasing other artistic pursuits: drawing and painting, with works by Caussanel and Casablancan artists, alongside music, with nightly live performances and DJ sessions.
The cocktail menu draws inspiration from artistic movements such as Dadaism or Cubism, offering 12 signature cocktails, including the “Baroquain”, a Moroccan interpretation of the Mojito by Head Barman Simon Mhaimdet.
Sofitel called on a major fashion designers like Karl Lagerfeld (the logo for the future So Singapore) and Christian Lacroix (Christian Lacroix VIP lounge and Christian Lacroix’s exclusive Sofitel So Bangkok collection).
