For the tenth time, the Monaco Yacht Show organisers – in collaboration with the French Crystal manufacturer Baccarat for their second consecutive year as event partner – put one superyacht on a pedestal above the other 100-plus superyachts exhibited at the show. To qualify for the short list the yacht has to be presented by the shipyard that built her. To win, she has to impress the jury! The 65-metre Galactica Star’s interior from Dutch manufacturer Heesen did just that, beating stiff competition from other builders and designers.
“To win this prize amongst a show-full of leading yachts is a credit to the whole team assembled by Heesen – we have enjoyed every minute of the collaboration,” said Dickie Bannenberg – of Bannenberg+Rowell, Galactica Star’s interior designers.
As well as the Monaco Yacht Show organisation committee and senior Baccarat executives, the jury comprised some industry figures
including Paul Ashton, Editor Superyacht World, Sophie Cotelle, VP Marketing (Lighting & Furniture) Baccarat, Nick Jeffery,
Principal Nick Jeffery Yacht Publicity, Gaelle Tallarida, Managing Director Monaco Yacht Show and Matteo Zaccagnino, Editor Yacht Capital and Yacht Design.
From September 25th to 28th, over 100 of the world’s most significant luxury yachts were on full display in Port Hercules, either available for charter or being exhibited to promote a shipyards’ expertise in new builds.
