Blue Jeans is one of the most complex superyachts created to date by artisanal Dutch shipyard Van der Valk Shipyard. In the interior of this 34-meter boat, the high ceilings rise to almost 2.5 meters in the lounge, offering an almost residential space to furnish with the best design. Van der Valk entrusted Poltrona Frau with the creation of a custom-made modular sofa, as well as with the supply of custom-finished Ginger chairs for the dining area.
The 34-metre Blue Jeans has begun her voyage through Belgium, France, and the UK to London, where some iconic shots were captured in front of Tower Bridge, to finally arrive at her home berth in the Far East last month.
The all-custom superyacht by Van der Valk Shipyard has a sleek and stylish overall profile with the use of exterior glass, an attractive blue hull livery and a fully-custom bare aluminium tender. Blue Jeans includes balconies on both sides of the main deck and a retractable dive board on the flybridge. The space on the foredeck is very wide for a recessed chill-out zone with a pop-up table.
But the exterior is not the only area that excels: the interiors are a fusion of Northern European and Asian Styles, with liquid metal walls, copper accents, Lapis Lazuli Blue marble as well as other fine stones.
“The furniture of the whole yacht is where our contract business unit Custom Interiors displays its knowledge: our Ginger armchairs with a customized finishing placed in the dining area, and two customized sofa systems, one for the interior area and the other for the exterior chill out area. Both systems are modular and flexible to adapt to the different number or needs of the guests.” – Poltrona Frau Custom Interiors.
The overall layout of Blue Jeans reflects her owner’s preferences for everyday use within a multifunctional, multigenerational concept that is equally ideal for large groups on day trips and the kind of extended stays onboard involved in her maiden voyage.
The collaboration between Poltrona Frau’s Custom Interiors division and the famous Rome-based design firm Zuccon International Project has created Jacques-Yves, a modular and customisable seating system with a wide range of components.
Poltrona Frau Custom Interiors In Charge with New York City’s The Times Center Redesign
The Stage is the 378-seat auditorium of New York City’s The Times Center, designed by Renzo Piano Building Workshop and Fox & Fowle in 2008. After more than a decade and countless conferences, galas, meetings and performances, Poltrona Frau Custom Interiors was tasked with the makeover of the original seating system. The natural choice was to re-install the originale RP01 model by Renzo Piano, with a slightly updated design and a newer quick release system for the removable seats.
