A dream of pure fashion, blooming and flourishing in light. Valentino bets on immaculate, elongated dresses telling an Haute Couture story of craftsmanship and artistry.
Across history, moments of reset, or restart, invariably put human values at the center. Humanism is the seed of rebirth.
This is one of such moments, says Valentino. Focusing on fashion as the profoundly human activity of giving form to matter through the hands, shaping creations that the body inhabits and brings to life, Valentino’s Creative Director Pierpaolo Piccioli conceived a new start in the space of fifteen silhouettes. He focuses on the human and lets it dialogue with the digital to create a new dream, at once material and immaterial. A dream of pure fashion in which the painstaking work of Valentino Ateliers is handed over to artist Nick Knight to bloom and flourish in light.
Pierpaolo Piccioli conceives a new start in the space of 15 silhouettes for the Valentino Haute Couture Fall Winter 2020 collection.
For the Haute Couture show, the dresses were suspended in space and time through a unique story told by Pierpaolo Piccioli in collaboration with Nick Knight with music by FKA twigs. The new Haute Couture narrative was shown at Cinecittà Studios in Rome, Italy.
The power of shape, an insistence on silhouette.
For Pierpaolo Piccioli’s Valentino Haute Couture Fall Winter 2020 digital live performance, the Creative Director uses form to tell a new narrative, one of rebirth and experimentation. Models, draped in dresses and hovering above the ground, tell the story of a new start, a rebirth.
