What are luxury demijohns and why they are perfect for unique blends of eaux-de-vie.
For the first time in its history, Hennessy is offering exclusive demijohns. Conceived solely for this rare edition, the bottles will never be reproduced.
For over 250 years Hennessy has preserved its eaux-de-vie and cognac secrets. The D in Hennessy’s lexicon stands for Demijohns, the large glass bottles that preserve eaux-de-vie and maintain their quality after barrel-aging. Inherited from the work of generations of Master Blenders, some of these eaux-de-vie are used in the production of Hennessy’s most prestigious cognacs such as Hennessy Paradis, Hennessy Paradis Imperial and Richard Hennessy.
The high-end cognac Maison has lifted the veil of secrecy on a months-long project to create exceptional demijohn bottles of cognac, personalized by French artisans. The special carafes will contain a unique blend of eaux-de-vie crafted by Renaud Fillioux de Gironde, Master Blender of the celebrated cognac maker.
The bespoke demijohns cognac bottles, signed by the talented Master Blender, are emblematic of Hennessy’s values. Preserved heritage, rarity from patient years of maturation and time-honored know-how are all intertwined, like the delicately woven wicker baskets.
These traditional bottles, used to preserve the most precious and oldest eaux-de-vie, will be fitted out in luxurious and personalized style. The woven blond wicker will be paired with sumptuous leather trim stitched by French artisans. The happy owners of the demijohns will be able to select the color of the leather and have their initials engraved on it for exquisitely detailed personalization.
