GPHG 2017 winner: Vacheron Constantin Les Cabinotiers Celestia
Vacheron Constantin, the luxury Swiss manufacture of prestige watches and a brand of the Richemont group, is celebrating one of its most important prize in fine watchmaking. The Grand Prix d’Horlogerie de Genève 2017 has awarded the Mechanical Exception Watch Prize to Vacheron Constantin’s Les Cabinotiers Celestia Astronomical Grand Complication 3600. The exceptional timepiece pushing the limits of innovation and excellence encapsulates 5 years of development and the work of one master-watchmaker. The Geneva based watch manufacture established in 1755 announced a partnership with the digital watch authority Hodinkee to sell its vintage-inspired Historiques Collection online in the United States.
This November, Hodinkee e-magazine platform introduced its new HODINKEE Shop, now with a selection of the best modern watches. “It’s a totally new way to buy watches and all about making things better for you, the customer,” explained the hodinkee team.
From its inception 20 years ago, Vacheron Constantin’s Historiques Collection has featured re-interpreted legendary timepieces from the watch Manufacture’s archives, subtlety reinterpreted. Produced in small quantities for watch collectors of rare pieces and vintage watch lovers, the collection is a perfect fit for HODINKEE’s online sales site, the Hodinkee Shop – a destination since 2012 for unique vintage wristwatches and watch accessories.
