Supermodel Kate Moss debuts in a Stuart Weitzman Spring 2013 campaign, photographed by Mario Testino. This is the Moss’s first campaign dedicated solely to American-designed shoe those previous faces include Russian supermodel Natalia Vodianova.
“Obviously she’s a professional,” the New York City-based shoe designer told PEOPLE. “We did shots of [her wearing] six beautiful shoes, and we only had one retake. That’s not normal — usually you’d be re-doing and re-doing. But her first shot out of the box was perfect.”
“There isn’t a Stuart Weitzman woman — I have a lot of muses,” said Mario Testino, who brought supermodel Moss to Weitzman. “Among those muses are certainly fashoinistas, celebrities, hip city girls, but also career women, housewives, brides. But I don’t need to have in our ad campaign someone we’re making shoes for, but someone who can show off the product as beautifully as we hope it is.”
High-end designer brand has 40 retail stores in the United States. Weitzman also operates 42 international stores, and the brand’s shoes are sold in boutiques in more than 70 countries.
