2014 Land Rover Discovery XXV Special Edition.
2014 is a landmark occasion for the Land Rover Discovery. A commemorative model will mark this year’s 25th anniversary of Land Rover Discovery model, affectionately known as the Disco. Over one million models of the car were sold over the years. The Land Rover Discovery is celebrating at the Geneva Motor Show a quarter of a century with 2014 Discovery XXV Special Edition, an exclusive SUV with a bespoke paint finish and leather interior, expected to cost around €80,000 ($100,000).
The Special Edition vehicle comes in a choice of four exterior colours, has distinctive badging and a sophisticated and premium interior lined with Windsor leather.
“Since its inception the Land Rover Discovery has been pivotal to the success of the brand and has now become an iconic design in its own right,” said Phil Popham, Group Marketing Director at Jaguar Land Rover.
“Discovery has led the way in terms of innovation, featuring technologies such as Terrain Response, which made off-roading much more accessible. The Discovery XXV Special Edition is the ultimate in sophisticated versatility and a fitting tribute to the legendary status of this iconic Land Rover,” added Popham.
This special-edition comes with a choice of four exterior colours – Causeway Grey, Santorini Black, Fuji White and – to mark the jubilee – Indus Silver. It also features Narvik Black grille surrounds and mirror caps, and Dark Atlas features on the grille and fender vents. Silver full-length roof rails, body-coloured handles and a stainless steel bumper accessory tread plate complement the exterior.
There is a choice of three interior leather colourway options: ebony, cirrus or dual-tone ebony/cirrus. Additional luxurious highlights include twist pile carpet mats and a leather-wrapped wooden steering wheel, while subtle XXV embossing throughout adds to the high-quality British workmanship of the XXV Special Edition.
2014 Land Rover Discovery XXV Special Edition will go on sale in limited numbers at the end of the year.
