Lladró Nightbloom by Marcel Wanders and Ice Cream Dreams

 

 

Coinciding with Euroluce 2019, Lladró announced the launch of Nightbloom in collaboration with the celebrated Dutch design studio Marcel Wanders.This collection of white porcelain chandeliers is inspired by the way the petals of a flower delicately dance in the wind and breeze. Sculpted by hand with a sense of natural randomness, each 3D-relief part of the bouquet lamp is a unique and unrepeatable handcrafted creation.

As a world leader in the design, manufacturing, and distribution of porcelain art creations, Lladró has partnered with Marcel Wanders to create a marriage between the lightness and surface details of flower petals with the beauty of matte porcelain.

“Working with Lladró, we were able to combine its unique craft processes with our goal of bringing the past into the contemporary moment to make something exquisite and beautiful for the home,” states Marcel Wanders.

The Night Bloom collection includes a ceiling pendant lamp, floor lamp, a desk lamp, and wall lamp, each offering a three-dimensional relief pattern. Suspended from above, the lamp features a soft gold contoured line that recalls the ancient Kintsugi Japanese technique. Creating a repetitive assortment, each petal is purposefully positioned to take advantage of LED technology emitting light from within. Together, the petal placement allows the hidden, center light to accentuate the details on the surface and enhance any room with the perfect balance between light and shade.

“The true loveliness of these pieces comes from the light that finds its way through the 3D-relief petals to create a color gradient from the inside to outside,” adds Gabriele Chiave, Creative Director at Marcel Wanders.

At this year’s Milan Design Week, Marcel Wanders presented also BFF for Moooi. This new piece is a modular sofa system that can be used in either residential or hospitality space.
Besides the exclusive presentation of Nightbloom Lladró also debuts the Ice Cream collection, which joins the Light&Scent family and new introductions in the Firefly and Ivy&Seed collections.

Ice Cream Lamps: new additions to the Light&Scent Series presented at Salone del Mobile 2019

Lladró Light & Scent combines delicate, exquisite porcelain with lighting in its most recent introduction, the Ice Cream collection. Original pendant and table lamps with eye-catching designs, borrowed from the wavy rhythms of a smooth creamy ice cream.

The texture and the incomparable characteristics of white matte porcelain make these new lamps highly versatile and perfect for any interior style. The LED lighting smoothly bathes the inside of these creations, lighting the surface with a faint glow while bringing out the exquisite modeling that invites you to touch the surface. The pendant version can be easily hung thanks to the hook on top, a knowing nod to cochin, the traditional Japanese paper lanterns.
