Loewe x JohnAllen.
In harmony with the indigo trend, Spanish luxury fashion house Loewe joins to the English textile designer John Allen for a limited edition capsule collection. This collection, in tones of blue, sand and red, reinterprets the major works of the artist on bags, espadrilles, wallets and accessories.
John Allen was born in 1934 and trained to be a dental technician before devoting himself to designing artistic textiles for the fashion industry. For the designer, the collaboration with LOEWE represents a personal milestone.”Jonathan is acutely aware to shape, form and colour, so his reaction to my carpetsmust mean I’m succeeding.”
John Allen is characterised by his extraordinary sense of colour.
“John’s use of colour and the purity of his work translates perfectly to LOEWE, which stands for the very best in craft today,” explained LOEWE’s Creative Director Jonathan Anderson.
Part of LOEWE Spring Summer 2015 collections, the John Allen range is the latest in a series of collaborations showcasing the work of artists and artisans the Spanish house believes in.
Creative director Jonathan Anderson selected three of Allen’s bucolic designs —Falling Leaves, Cornish Harbour and Pink House in Cumbria— to be used as prints on totes, duffle bags, carves and large beach towels.
