The New Breguet Reine de Naples 8918 Takes On A Soft Touch

This new model reaffirms the legendary Reine de Naples collection as a symbol of timeless elegance.

After several black and white versions, Breguet Reine de Naples ladies watch now comes in a pink shade. This new luxurious timepiece boasts a feminine and refined visual harmony with its rose gold case, its bezel and flange set with 117 diamonds and its crown, which also features a diamond. The dial is light pink and is made of “Grand feu” enamel in line with Breguet’s watchmaking tradition. The off-centre hour circle features a pear-shaped diamond at 6 o’clock, adding elegance to the timepiece. As for the secret signature, it is subtly outlined between the centre of the dial and 3 o’clock.

The 537/3 self-winding movement of the Reine de Naples 8918 beats at a frequency of 3.5 hertz. It is water-resistant up to 30 metres and has a power reserve of 45 hours. The mechanism, which is visible on the back of the watch, is equipped with a silicon escapement and a platinum oscillating weight hand-engraved by the Manufacture’s craftsmen.

Finally, the buckle of the pale pink calfskin strap is set with 28 diamonds.

Breguet Reine de Naples 8918 timepieces is available in white gold, in rose gold or in yellow gold with silvered gold dial, hand-engraved on a rose engine and partly in white natural mother-of-pearl. The watch is available in rose gold with dial in champagne-coloured Tahitian natural mother-of-pearl and partly in white natural mother-of-pearl, hand-engraved on a rose engine.

Last November, Breguet Reine de Naples collection announced two new models featuring an innovative hand.

Breguet turned the spotlight on two new timepieces showcasing two styles but with one thing in common: the astonishing minutes hand. Thanks to an ingenious mechanism protected by several patents, it is able to change shape according to its position on the dial. This hand is composed of two arms linked at one end yet independent of each other and changing shape thanks to a clever set of gears. The hand thus plays with the dial by appearing in different guises when it is stretched at 12 o’clock and then more rounded at 6 o’clock.

Both watch models feature this ingenious hand set the tone. The first model, a 20-piece limited edition, elegantly combines a white gold case with a midnight blue mother-of-pearl dial, whose subtle hues vary as the light plays over it. The second timepiece, also in white gold, makes it out with a white lacquered dial, contrasting with its midnight blue alligator strap.
