A wind of freedom: Take a look at these new 5-star nomadic experiences at a time when demand is exploding.
The Hippie Caviar Hotel Electric show car: Renault’s Vision of the 5-star escape
At this year 2021 Caravan Salon in Düsseldorf, Renault has reinvented the world of campervans with the Hippie Caviar Hotel, where you can relax in a hippie-chic van and take in nature’s beauty from the rooftop.
The offbeat design brings the 5-star hotel experience to your escape: furnished roof terrace, exterior removable bed, delivery by drone, etc. This two-tone “happy” show car is inspired by the 60s movement and its style is a throwback to the iconic Renault Estafette campervan. With Hippie Caviar Hotel, Renault has set its sights on developing a range of VIP vans centred on customised services and the arrival of the electric version of Trafic in 2022.
A van for stargazing from its roof terrace
After repeated lockdowns, the urge to escape without accommodation constraints is stronger than ever. The campervan can mean freedom. Renault design chose New Renault Trafic to imagine a nomadic life with all the space, comfort and modularity necessary for all journeys. The van’s dimensions also make it easy to park, for a stress-free life.
“Hippie Caviar Hotel was born with the desire to escape, to experience nature in an idyllic setting with all the comforts and amenities of a 5-star hotel.” – Louis Morasse, Renault LCV design Director
Hippie Caviar Hotel features the new Renault Trafic design with a more powerful and expressive front end. It consists of a cabin at the front, in a glittery water- green colour and a room at the rear in “Anodised Silver Grey”. The design is inspired by 5-star hotel rooms, refined and rich in natural materials. The wicker-effect dashboard is enhanced by a leather band. The use of materials, such as exotic wood, natural fibres (linen and wool) and plant-based foam, is a nod to nature. The Japanese paper-effect “washi” paints add an architectural and contemporary style.
Hippie Caviar Hotel offers a bench seat that can be converted into a comfortable bed that can be positioned outside or inside the vehicle. In the “contemplation” position, the open tailgate and its draperies provide privacy and protection from the weather. In the “cosy” position, the bench seat and the corner armchair create a lounge area. The rooftop terrace, complete with a coffee table and two removable backrests, offers another view of your surroundings. The rooftop can be accessed from an extractable ladder.
Hippie Caviar Hotel offers a “select” experience with services worthy of a 5-star hotel: delivery of a logistics container (shower, lavatory, electric recharging point, etc.) to the location chosen by the customer, concierge services to be ordered online with delivery by drone on the roof or on the bench in the “contemplation”position. Not to mention additional services such as the provision of bicycles.
“Hippie Caviar Hotel is our take on the nomadic hotel concept, based on connected services. This Renault show car ushers in major projects.” – Arnaud Belloni, VP, Renault Brand, Global Marketing.
The first capsule hotel to conquer the world is located in Granada, Spain.
This capsule hotel (podtel) is called district hive and is the first of several (Podtel Colony) to be placed in different parts of the world. It is a 100% self-sufficient module that represents a new way of understanding tourism from a sustainability and efficiency perspective.
The tourism revolution has begun and is emerging from the heart of the Gorafe desert, in Granada (Spain). There, a state-of-the-art tourist project has just been launched aiming to change the current concept we have of luxury accommodation for travellers seeking the experience of total disconnection from the outside world, through deep immersion in the environment. The revolution is called District Hive and has arrived with the aim of expanding; because this capsule hotel (also called podtel) is just the pilot project of many others that will conquer the most remote and beautiful corners of the planet.
District Hive is the first 100% self-sufficient and transportable module that can be deployed on any terrain, even where construction is not possible. This module, created by the Spanish studio MOHO Arquitectos, has been designed from a multidisciplinary perspective and underDistrict Hivestands tourism in a sustainable, ecological and responsible way. It enhances the value of nature by accessing it without leaving a trace. The environmental impact on the area is zero since no local resources are consumed. Once removed, the location would remain in the same state in which it was previously found.
This eco-hotel is able to generate its own water from the air, its own electricity from solar energy, has enough energy to power it for 4 days without sun, has its own sewage management by transforming waste into ashes, and grey waters are filtered through two filtering processes so that the water serves as irrigation water. The complete autonomy of the module makes common and complementary services unnecessary, thus optimizing resources and ensuring a reduction in the carbon footprint.
