Today more than ever, we need to act all together. The new “Office Supplies” Collection by @virgilabloh and @jacobandco celebrates your togetherness and the unbreakable bond in every joyous moment with your loved ones. ⠀
“The collection is a concept for fine jewelry I developed and have been sitting on for a while now…” explained the founder of Off-White explained on Instagram.
The first part of their jewellery collection was first previewed last winter. The new selection of pieces encrusted with diamonds are all inspired by DIY culture and consisting of a chain of 18K gold staples, both yellow, white and pink.
“It’s all cryptic & metaphoric but that’s as much of the concept as the adolescent idea of making a paperclip bracelet in grade school meets the blinding aspirational quality of a Rocafella chain. It’s my whole art practice in one object. With jewelry design, not only is technical sophistication important, but also lineage. That’s the foundation for pieces with meaning. Jacob for me has always been innovative, particularly in the notions of merging design sophistication and the pop-culture emanating from the streets,” added Virgil Abloh.
“A paperclip is less than five cents. Done in diamonds it obviously exudes a different value, but it offers the same intrigue to the brain when you look at it,” Abloh told Vogue. “I love the conundrum. I love that your brain can ping-pong between value based on form and materiality. That’s why I call it an object of art rather than a piece of fashion.”
“We are so excited about this project,” said Jacob Arabo about the jewelry collaboration. “We have been friends for a long time and the cooperation just felt right. His inventive spirit, his incredible sense of design and fashion and his energy were a real revelation. It is a very pleasant experience and I look forward to success together. ”
“In my work in the watch and jewelry industry, I worked at the upper end of the spectrum, created high demands for watches and changed the way jewelry was perceived,” added the Jacob & Co. founder. “Turning something ubiquitous like a paper clip into a beautiful object was a real challenge. I’m proud of this first collection and can’t wait to see the reaction from our customers.”
According to vogue, the jewellery line, which ranges from $3,000 (£2,300) to $72,000 (£56,000), will be sold like works of art, too. The Office Supplies fine jewelry concept is available on a personal basis after satisfactory questioner submitted.
