On show are the eye-catching WIDER 32 in her Amalfi Zest livery, while the WIDER 42 Express Cruiser will be available for sea trials. In addition, Wider Yachts will be releasing more exclusive pictures and video of progress with the WIDER 150 project.
On board the Wider 42
With the trademark Wider expanding cockpit, the Wider 42 offers double the surface area of a conventional 42-footer. Opening up at the push of a button – the process takes just 12 seconds – expanding amidships to provide a deck space of 18m2 when at anchor.
Combining high performance with low fuel consumption, the Wider 42 is equipped with twin 480hp Cummins engines which drive her to over 50 knots – an impressive speed for a 42’ cruising yacht.
These performance figures are largely due to the stepped hull, designed by offshore racing specialist Mark Wilson, as well as Arneson surface drive propellers. 70% of the Wider 42 is made of carbon in order to achieve a relatively light displacement and excellent power to weight ratio. As a result, the Wider 42 offers enhanced efficiency and has a greater range than other yachts in its size category.
The heart of the yacht can transform to fulfill a number of different functions. The lunchtime dinette, built entirely in carbon fibre can quickly be turned either into a comfortable sundeck or smart chaise longue. This area also has a fitted outdoor galley with a teppanyaki griddle and an icebox for chilling drinks and keeping fresh fruit to hand.
The stern of the Wider 42 is also extremely versatile. Starting from a sun pad configuration, it can take on four different layouts.
The deck is furnished with a C-shaped seating area that can be converted into a large double bed. Opposite this is a flat screen LED TV. The head has a crystal shower unit, a glass washbasin and carbon toilet. The kitchen area has a worktop with a sink and single ceramic burner, which can be fitted with a microwave if desired. A double drawer fridge unit with freezer can be also be added on request.
On board the Wider 32
Originally conceived as a versatile tender for the Wider 150 and Wider 165, the Wider 32 is also a fast and innovative express day cruiser – ideal for anyone who loves performance and originality, matched with the comfort of well-designed living spaces.
The roomy cockpit on board the Wider 32 is furnished with sofas and foldable tables that can be configured to suit a variety of uses. Simply by moving the seats around you can modulate the space, achieving a sunbathing area that uses all the space available. Alternatively, you can raise a folding table to create a comfortable dining area. In addition, the yacht is equipped with an adjustable awning to shade the cockpit.
A stylish sliding door, situated beside the dashboard, grants access below deck. The cabin offers ample storage and is furnished with two comfortable sofas, which are easily converted into spacious beds. The galley – fitted with a sink, ceramic hot plate and minibar – can be stowed away discreetly when at sea. The bow houses the head, which extends across the width of the hull to accommodate a generous shower.
The Wider 32 is an easy boat to handle thanks to the combination of twin Mercuiser TDI 260hp engines and the well-designed deep V hull, which absorbs the impact of waves. The twin engines make manoeuvring easy in tight confines, while allowing for the necessary power to achieve a top speed of 37 knots.
The Wider 32 can be uniquely personalised by choice of colour combinations for the composite hull and superstructure, and modified in terms of interior capabilities.
