July 1-5 the most illustrious couturiers and design houses will open their doors for Paris Haute Couture Fashion Week. Christian Dior, Chanel, Maison Martin Margiela, Alexis Mabille, and many others will present what we will wear for Fall/Winter 2012-2013.
Thursday, July 5, will be dedicated to haute joaillerie housed. BOUCHERON, CHANEL JOAILLERIE, CHAUMET, DIOR JOAILLERIE, MELLERIO DITS MELLER and VAN CLEEF & ARPELS will present the latest collections. The Fédération Française de la Couture, du Prêt-à-Porter des Couturiers et des Créateurs de Mode association, created in 1973, is presided over by Guillaume de Seynes (Hermès). It is made up of Haute Couture houses and fashion designers who produce women’s ready-to-wear.
Haute Couture is a legally protected and controlled label that can only be used by those fashion houses, which have been granted the designation by the French Ministry of Industry. The group of companies that enjoy the Haute Couture label is reviewed annually.
