Radford Type 62-2 Pikes Peak Edition Showcased At This Year’s Festival of Speed

After a successful dynamic debut of the Type 62-2 in last year’s supercar paddock, Radford chose the 2023 Goodwood Festival of Speed to showcase their new limited series Track Edition of the Type 62-2.

The Type 62-2 Pikes Peak Edition was on display in the Ballroom Paddock. It is the first of the Track Editions, showcasing the breadth of the ability of the team to create a bespoke race car, capable of handling the very toughest of challenges.

Radford, the renowned coachbuilder, has once again made a significant impact at the 2023 Goodwood Festival of Speed with the unveiling of their latest masterpiece, the limited series Track Edition of the Type 62-2. Following the successful debut of the Type 62-2 in last year’s supercar paddock, Radford chose this year’s festival to showcase their expertise in creating bespoke race cars capable of conquering the toughest challenges.

The highlight of Radford’s display was the Type 62-2 Pikes Peak Edition, which finished first in the Exhibition Class at the 101st running of the iconic hill climb event. With an impressive time of 09:37.326, expertly piloted by renowned Rally and Race Car Driver Tanner Foust, the car demonstrated its remarkable performance and precision. Breaking the fabled 10-minute mark for the first time, Foust’s victory showcased the exceptional capabilities of the Type 62-2 Pikes Peak Edition.

The Track Editions will be produced in a limited run of up to 12 vehicles, each carefully tailored to meet the specific requirements of individual clients. These track versions will showcase the latest technological advancements derived from the road car, further enhanced and engineered for superior track performance. One of the notable developments is the newly developed carbon monocoque chassis, which is 50% lighter than its predecessor while being three times stronger. The interior panels and structural walls of the cockpit have also undergone significant engineering overhauls, featuring exposed carbon construction. This unique design approach allows customers to personalize their experience by either covering the carbon elements with high-quality leather or leaving them exposed for a more visceral feel.

The Track Package offered with the Pikes Peak Edition includes a range of exclusive accessories and experiences. This package encompasses a bespoke Sparco customer driving suit, driving shoes, SALT driving sunglasses, as well as helmets and racing gloves. Customers will also receive a custom poster and a special edition car cover. Moreover, the Pikes Peak Edition will benefit from specialist tire support from Yokohama, an extra set of wheels and tires, tire warmers, a laser alignment kit, and a tool set by Mac Tools. In a truly exceptional opportunity, drivers will have the chance to train with both Jenson Button and Tanner Foust at the Radford Racing School. Furthermore, customers can participate in in-class driving series races, adding a thrilling element to their ownership experience.
