Ebony, steel, and Pelle Frau. Designer Roberto Lazzeroni joins elegance and innovation in Babel – a compact home bar unit comprising three cupboards in two different sizes.
The largest, placed on the floor to support the other two, is in multiple birch with an ebony veneer MDF top and it has a chromium- plated tubular steel divider for bottles.
The smaller cupboards, which rest on the larger one, have lift-up doors and are in multiple birch with ebony veneer on the parts visible inside. One has a chromium-plated tubular steel divider for glasses, the other houses a chromium-plated storage box with ebony veneer MDF lid and has a chromium-plated steel handle. The bottom of all three containers is finished in matt black scratch- proof paint.
A steel mechanism allows the two top cupboards to rotate outwards, giving access to the one underneath. The visible parts of the mechanism have a matt black lacquer finish.
The outside upholstery of Babel is in Cuoio Saddle Extra leather, edged in matching Pelle Frau leather from the Color System. The cupboards are lined in red Alcantara. Both top cupboards have two handles in Cuoio Saddle Extra leather: one is for opening the door and the other is fitted to a chromium-plated aluminium plate on the side and is used to turn the unit and give access to the cupboard underneath. Four black swivel wheels make Babel easy to move.
This winter Poltrona Frau reinforces its visibility on Turin with the opening of a pop-up store inside the exclusive Galleria San Federico, a few steps from Piazza San Carlo, in the heart of the historic centre of Turin.
“An homage to Italian savoir-faire in our city, Turin. A few steps from Piazza San Carlo, in the prestigious Galleria San Federico, Poltrona Frau’s new Temporary Store awaits for you with the Historic Collection’s Icons and the great contemporaries,” said the luxury Italian house in a statement.
The space is divided into four big display areas which aim to promote the values that distinguish the high-end furniture brand with a refined language. High-quality craftsmanship, sophisticated details and a well-organised manufacturing process highlight Poltrona Frau’s Italian savoir-faire.
Historical and contemporary furniture pieces are combined together with great harmony, from the Vanity Fair armchair, designed in 1930, to the Scarlett round sofa by Jean-Marie Massaud.
