Do you believe in fashion that’s both eco-friendly and chic? Marine Serre‘s pop-up at Selfridges’ Corner Shop has everything you need to be a sustainable fashionista.
The Corner Shop in Selfridges London was transformed into an atelier, with customisation workshops, exclusive pieces and regenerated couture (17 April–13 May 2023).
Selfridges latest Corner Shop resident, Marine Serre, has been worn by Beyoncé and Michelle Obama, modelled by Lourdes Leon and praised by the late Karl Lagerfeld. A pioneer of regenerated fashion – named as a leader for environmental change at the British Fashion Awards – the designer has set the standard for building a sustainably minded global brand that everyone wants to wear. Around 50% of her collections are composed of upcycled products. The other half are made from innovative fabrics such as biodegradable yarns and recycled fibres. And, of course, there are her signature moon prints.

Every season, MARINE SERRE proposes a new innovative pattern for the second-skin pieces, a kind of temporary tattoo that evolves with time. The ornamental print presented in the State of Soul collection derives from scans of antique jewellery finds making each piece a masterpiece that follows the body.
Now, for the brand’s first-ever retail pop-up, the London high-end department store created a Marine Serre regeneration atelier at The Corner Shop in Selfridges London. Decorated with vintage furniture upholstered with crescent moons, the space will play host to a series of customisation workshops, an array of exclusive Marine Serre pieces from her State of Soul SS23 collection and three couture styles, which you can have made to measure. “In designing the Corner Shop installation, I wanted visitors to have the opportunity to explore how we place the Marine Serre house holistically within the environment. We are excited to collaborate on new possibilities for the future. To love is to repair.” Marine Serre – Founder and Creative Director.
Make it with Marine Serre:
What’s stylish, innovative and completely unique to you? You’ll find your answer in The Corner Shop, where we’re inviting you to take part in three unmissable activities with the Marine Serre team.
1. One-off regenerated T-shirts at Selfridges London (21–23 April)
Watch a one-off Marine Serre upcycled tee being made. The brand’s seamstresses will be in residence at The Corner Shop, transforming vintage and deadstock pieces into custom-made recycled tees. You can bring your own T-shirt along to be upcycled or choose one made from a selection of vintage tees sourced from France and the UK.
2. Trainer printing at Selfridges London (29 & 30 April)
To celebrate the launch of the first Marine Serre trainers, exclusively at Selfridges, the brand will be offering them a unique first outing. Each person who purchases a pair will be invited to use the soles to print their own custom Marine Serre T-shirt.
3. Screen-printing workshop at Selfridges London (6 & 7 May, 2023)
Learn how to screen print with Marine Serre’s in-house expert. You can either bring your own garments to Selfridges to be printed with the brand’s signature moons or shop a Marine Serre item to be printed. Watch the process, learn something new and take home your very own personalised piece.
Regenerated Couture
For something truly unique, Marine Serre will be offering two made-to-measure couture pieces from past collections, to be handmade in the Paris atelier. You can choose between the upcycled denim dress worn by singer Jorja Smith in the brand’s SS23 ‘State of Soul’ show, and a gown from Marine’s SS19 ‘Hardcore Couture’ collection. Prototype pieces will also be on display in The Corner Shop.
