In a remarkable development that is set to redefine the world of luxury travel, the Société des Bains de Mer (SBM) Group has officially completed the acquisition of the renowned “Palace des Neiges” in Courchevel. This latest addition to their illustrious portfolio promises to elevate the standards of opulence and service in one of the world’s most celebrated winter destinations.
The seeds of this acquisition were sown when Stéphane Valeri, Deputy Chairman of the SBM Group, hinted at their intentions to acquire a luxury hotel in Courchevel on June 1st. The anticipation that followed this revelation was nothing short of electric, and just weeks later, on July 13th, La Gazette De Monaco confirmed the groundbreaking agreement. Monte-Carlo SBM International would acquire the “Palace des Neiges” in Courchevel 1850, nestled within the enchanting Jardin Alpin district.
Fast forward to October 3rd, the day when the deal was officially sealed, and the SBM Group made an exciting announcement in a press release. As promised by Stéphane Valeri, the palace will continue its operations this season under the capable stewardship of Alp’Azur. Subsequently, the highly-anticipated renovation work is scheduled to commence in April, with a timeframe ranging from one to two years for completion.
While the financial particulars of this acquisition remain undisclosed, Stéphane Valeri couldn’t hide his satisfaction. He declared, “It is a great source of satisfaction for our group to succeed for the first time in its history in finalizing an international hotel acquisition project, and to do so alongside some of the biggest names in luxury hotels in the Alps. The new, restructured hotel will be a new source of growth for us, and will complement our human resources on a seasonal basis.”
The SBM Group’s Director of International Development, Pascal Camia, expressed gratitude to the dedicated teams who orchestrated this monumental project with professionalism and finesse. He remarked, “Now we can offer an exceptional hotel, enabling us to export our expertise to a place that is highly prized by our customers and by those we want to attract to our group’s global offering.”
