Designer Stefano Pilati will present his last collection for Yves Saint Laurent fashion house on March 5. Yves Saint-Laurent confirmed that Italian designer was quitting but did not name his successor.
“The house will disclose the name of the new creative director in the coming weeks,” a company statement said.
Designer Hedi Slimane, who had worked at YSL in the late 1990s as head of the menswear collection, whose admirers include rock stars and fashion trade peers, will replace Pilati, industry sources told AFP over the weekend.
His skinny suits and tight low trousers made for Dior Homme revolutionised menswear and brought to Slimane fame, admiration and a lot of imitators.
