Lapitec – a mineral material that is 100% natural – is the world’s only certified sintered stone, a popular choice among designers to reinterpret cladding, paving, spa areas, swimming pools, kitchen worktops, yachts and bathrooms.
The kitchen is the most important room in the house and, when designing it, the right choice of materials can make all the difference. Lapitec knows precisely how to give your kitchen a timeless feel, adding brightness and elegance. A difference that can easily be perceived, especially through the sense of touch. Genuine colours that are well-suited to a range of different styles, both modern and classic, and to a number of different materials, such as wood, steel and glass.
Combining aesthetic elegance with high levels of physical-mechanical performance, Lapitec proves to be one of the best possible solutions in the kitchen; in fact, it only requires minimum maintenance and guarantees maximum levels of hygiene. Luxury is also about being able to place a hot pan on your work surface without having to worry. In addition to being able to withstand high temperatures, Lapitec is also non-absorbent, meaning that the surface does not perish over time, as it prevents external agents from staining, ruining or damaging it. The material can be used in countless ways in the kitchen, all of them elegant and sophisticated.
Lapitec is a true revolution in the world of domestic kitchens, and its perfect mix of aesthetics and technology, performance and functionality. The product was recently recognised with the Kitchen Innovation Award 2023.
Lapitec Chef is compatible with all cookware suitable for induction hobs. The cooking mat is made of black food-grade silicone with a surface pattern that enhances its performance, and is dishwasher safe. When removed, it leaves the silica free and ‘full body’ sintered stone kitchen top – which can be customised in all the available colours and finishes of the lapitec range – completely free. The top can therefore be used for preparing food, plating or even as a dining area, thanks to its non-porous, non-absorbent surface which is resistant to chemical agents and temperature changes, and NSF Food Zone certified for contact with foodstuffs.
Lapitec Chef is the under-top induction hob that allows for highest level of clean lines in the décor, with the guaranteed technical and aesthetic qualities of sintered stone. Its victory in the German contest, promoted by LifeCare. Network UG and announced during an official ceremony on 4 February at the Ambiente trade fair in Frankfurt, was decided by the public, who voted it the best product of this edition according to the criteria of ‘functionality, innovation, product benefit, design and material equality’.
“This is the first award for Lapitec Chef, which confirms our quest for innovation and also allows us to express the best characteristics of sintered stone,” explains Marcello Toncelli, who leads the company. “We have spent several years fine-tuning this product, which is patented, with the electrothermal developed in collaboration with the University of Padua,” he continued. “Our ambition is to make Lapitec the reference surface par excellence in the kitchen world, at an international level, and Lapitec Chef is an indispensable and unique tool through which we can move towards this goal.”
Lapitec Chef is operated by a double cooking mat equipped with magnetic sensors. When positioned on the worktop, it interacts with the under-top inductors and activates the touch controls and the system, for a total of four cooking areas also in bridge mode. When the mat is removed, the induction unit and the controls – the only details of the appliance visible on the lapitec hob, together with small engravings indicating where to place the mat – are inactive and ensure maximum safety even in the presence of children.
The beauty of Lapitec’s stone effect is unalterable and after years remains as good as the first day, which is why it is guaranteed for up to 25 years.
