When history becomes stone and stone becomes a piece of furniture: draenert at imm cologne

 

The 2019 imm Cologne, the international furniture show in January in Cologne, is a globally central and very important furniture fair, which is the every year’s prelude. The enormous breadth and depth of the products encompasses flat pack furniture and premium brands as well as visionary product designs. This year the exhibition is complemented by the Living Interiors. More than 1,100 international exhibitors from 50 countries will present their innovations to 125,000 visitors from 138 countries.

The theme of the this year’s furniture show in Cologne is “Create. Furnish. Live.”

“Since more than 45 years Draenert is a very important part of the imm in Cologne. Also this year, we were represented at our usual area in hall 11.2, with a bigger stand to show a retrospective of 50 years of DRAENERT. A new design concept of our booth waits for our visitors. This year we have focused in our different color and living environments primarily on the haptics of the materials we use,” said draenert. A lot of new models with formal and functional finesses, which are typical for DRAENERT, are presented to the public.

Uniqueness is handcrafted. The side table Figura is made of turned, solid wood in the company’s in-house manufacture in Immenstaad on Lake Constance.

FONTANA is an amazing and exceptional dining table. For this table, Draener developed an innovative, fully automatic extension mechanism, which allows to open and to close the table almost automatically. In this regard it is sufficient to pull out one side of the trapezoidal table top of natural stone and the FONTANA unfolds to its full size, and with the same playful ease it moves back to its original shape.

ATLAS is an extensible, rectangular dining table made of natural stone wood that convinces by its modern strictness. Thanks to the extension mechanism the symmetry with the substructure is always maintained in the extended as well as the closed position.

 

TWIST is an all glass coffee table with a base made of 3 mouth-blown cones. 3 versions are available. This coffee or lounge table is excellently suitable for grouping arrangements because of its adaptable shape. The unexpected twist becomes clear in the swings of the outside lines and the intermediate spaces.

The sideboard TWIN follows the notion of a modern cupboard and provides ample storage space inside and on top aside of the dining table. There are hardly any limits for the individualization. And the stone boards are the excellent perfecting finish.
