TripAdvisor Announces 2012 Travelers’ Choice Beach Destinations Awards
What are the most desirable beach destinations in the world? Millions of travelers named one hundred eighty-one top beach locations around the world, covering 21 regions. The most highly rated beach destinations by travelers were announced as the winners of Tripadvisor’s annual 2012 Travelers’ Choice Beach Destinations awards.
The awards included lists for Africa, Asia, Australia, Brazil, Caribbean, Central America, Europe, France, Greece, India, Indonesia, Italy, Mexico, Middle East, South America, South Pacific, Spain, Thailand, Turkey, U.K. and the U.S.
“Travelers seeking a brief beach respite from the cold or planning their grand summer getaways will quickly warm up to the thought of trips to these award-winning beach destinations, as identified by TripAdvisor’s community of millions of travelers,” said Barbara Messing, chief marketing officer for TripAdvisor.
Providenciales in Turks and Caicos, Palm/Eagle Beach (Aruba), Tulum (Mexico), Negril (Jamaica) and Saint Pete Beach (Florida) are the top 5 Beach Destinations of the world.
Providenciales, or more commonly known as “Provo“, covers an area of 38 miles and is the most developed island in Turks and Caicos. Surrounded by beautiful white sand beaches, Provo has been ranked “Best Beach” by Conde’ Nast magazine and by the World Travel Awards for several years running.
What makes this little Caribbean island the Travelers’ Choice top beach destination for the second year in a row? Families love it for its uncrowded beaches at Taylor Bay and Grace Bay.
