Champagne of success & glamour: Top 10 most popular brands of champagne for 2013.
2,415,900 9-liter cases of Moet and Chandon champagne sold in 2013 placed the champagne house on the first place of a ranking compiled by industry publication The Drinks Business. The new list shows the total number of volumes sold last year. According to the research, the UK still remains the biggest export market for Champagne at 30.8 million bottles.
This year’s top 10 brands reflect a topsy-turvy situation in the wine market. Some brands have managed strong increases, others small declines.
“Little has changed in the rankings though since last year, though Piper-Heidsieck’s recent reorganisation has clearly paid dividends as it leap frogs Pommery to seventh place on a 2.9% bounce,” commented thedrinksbusiness.
